Mikihiro Miyagawa Mikihiro Miyagawa
High gag sense! I’ll guide you through Kyoto’s history deeply and joyfully.
My Favorite Places in Kyoto
My absolute favorite place in Kyoto is around “Shinbashi on a spring night”. The illuminated cherry blossoms and willow trees, along with the cobblestones and traditional machiya houses, create a breathtakingly magical scenery.
Dashing through this quiet and atmospheric space on a rickshaw makes you feel as if you’ve slipped back in time. I really want our guests to experience this special, moving feeling.
Why I guide at NINJAYA
I decided to become a rickshaw puller because of my deep love for Kyoto’s history and my strong desire to learn more about it.
I feel it is my mission not just to gain knowledge, but to convey what I have learned in an interesting way in my own words—sometimes with a joke or two—providing guests with a fun and informative time.
Memorable Experience
The time that remains in my heart more than anything is when guests took a deep interest in Kyoto’s history and burst into laughter at my best jokes during the tour.
The moment “learning” and “laughter” fused together, I felt a warm connection with the guests and reaffirmed how wonderful this job truly is.
Guest Reviews
He explained the history of Kyoto in fluent English with great humor! His gag sense is top-notch, and we spent a fun time laughing throughout. Thank you!
We were guided around the Shinbashi area on a spring night. We were moved by the unbelievably beautiful illuminated scenery. Mikihiro’s talk was also entertaining, making it the best memory.
