How the price is set

What the price includes

Entrance fees, meals and anything else paid to a third party are not included.

Seven or more guests, or several days

We quote after hearing what you would like. A private viewing at a temple that does not open to the public, a fully private tour, an afternoon of tea or incense: we put a day together from these, and rickshaw and walking tours can sit inside it. The floor is ¥300,000 a day, plus ¥400,000 a night if you stay at the private villa (up to seven guests). This is the floor, not a quote. We build within your budget, so come to us before anything is settled.

Before you book

1. Book and pay in advance
You can book and pay on this page. Nothing changes hands on the day.
2. We wait for you at the meeting point
Your driver waits at the meeting point you chose when booking. A map is in your confirmation email.
3. The tour
We stop at each place and tell you about it properly. The route is put together around what you want that day. Your driver takes the photographs, and the files stay with you.
4. Seeing you off
We are happy to advise on your way back, or where to go next.

If you would rather build from days and numbers

Tell us the days, the number of guests and what you would like to do, and we build it. We work within your budget, so Build from your wishes is the place to tell us.

Cut-off
Bookings are taken through this page up to 30 minutes before departure. Early morning departures (08:00-09:00) close at 18:00 the previous day, and evening departures (17:00-19:00) at 16:00 on the day. The same applies at both the Gion and Uji branches.
Booking on the day
We can take you out on the day itself, from 60 minutes. If you decide once underway that you would like to see more, we can extend there and then.The difference for the extension is settled on the day.
Six or more guests
Each rickshaw carries up to two guests (one child per adult may ride on your lap at no charge). For six or more we arrange the number of vehicles and the route individually, so please write to us through Build from your wishes. We take these from 60 minutes.
If you have missed the cut-off

Extra charges
The price shown is all there is; we take no tips and add no charges. If a gratuity is given, one hundred per cent of it goes to the driver who took you.
