NINJAYA INSIDE REPORT

1st NINJAYA Employee & Part-time Staff Kickoff
Students Challenging High Standards and the Inherited Professional Will

Next-Generation Professionals Gathering in a First-Class Environment

Meeting at THE SODOH

At the prestigious space “THE SODOH HIGASHIYAMA KYOTO” in Higashiyama, Kyoto, the first joint meeting for employees and part-time staff of NINJAYA was held.

This meeting was not just a social gathering. It was a concrete program designed to share the “standards of hospitality” from the same perspective, bringing together the student part-timers who will carry the future of NINJAYA and the frontline professional employees.

The Process of the Day ── Sharing Aspirations and Team Formation

1 Passionate Self-Introductions and Speeches

The meeting kicked off with self-introductions and speeches from all participating members. The student members gathering at NINJAYA don’t just have a simple motive like “wanting to work in Kyoto.” Whether it’s wanting to captivate guests from around the world using fluent language skills, wanting to explore Kyoto’s deep history and convey it in their own words, or wanting to polish their “true communication skills” for their future business careers, each one harbors extremely high aspirations.

Their speeches went far beyond the boundaries of being a student. The determination to “create the best moments that will remain in the guests’ life memories” resided in their words, instantly enveloping the venue in enthusiasm.

The speeches from the frontline employees that followed were also full of respect and expectation, welcoming them not just as part-time workers, but as fellow “hospitality professionals.”

【A Culture of Mutual Respect】 There are no barriers of age or position; there is only a shared vision to “provide the supreme experience.” This self-introduction session, where the fresh passion of students intersected with the unwavering resolve of top professionals, symbolized the high psychological safety and overwhelmingly high standards that the NINJAYA team possesses.

2 Formation of New Teams ── Competing on Customer Satisfaction

Next, the new team formations for the second half of the year were announced. A major feature this time was that “leaders” were chosen voluntarily from among the part-time members, creating a structure where teams compete against each other to enhance their skills.

The evaluation metric at NINJAYA is not just simple sales figures. The most emphasized aspect is “customer satisfaction evaluation based on reviews and feedback.” How deeply we can delight the guests—that process determines the team’s victory or defeat. Immediately after the announcement, members were already engaging in discussions about specific strategies.

President’s Summary ── Showing the “Standards of a Professional” by Action

To conclude the meeting, Representative Inaba summarized the “decisive difference between an amateur and a professional.”

The Intellect to Ask “Why?” and the Habit of Taking Notes

If you only provide superficial knowledge in response to a question from a guest, you are an amateur. A professional Shafu must possess the “knowledge to logically develop a guide from 8 different angles” for a single spot.

If there is a question you couldn’t answer today, take a note immediately and research it within the day. Maintaining the status quo is decline. Winning today against the self who couldn’t answer yesterday. Repeating this habit directly leads to growth.

【The Fact of the Day】 Not by Words, but by Actions

When Inaba preached the “importance of taking notes,” the students in the venue realized a certain fact.

Representative Inaba himself, who says he “has confidence in his memory,” was actually continuously recording every casual keyword and opinion uttered by students and members during the meeting into his mobile phone and notepad.

The person with the top track record in the industry is thoroughly practicing the basics more than anyone else. Witnessing this fact, it was the moment the students’ attitude towards their work elevated to another level.

Mentorship Environment to Acquire Overwhelming Skills

The reason NINJAYA students can maintain such high standards is that the mentors showing them their backs are track record holders in the rickshaw industry. With a unique educational system, we forge the “spirit of hospitality.”

NINJAYA Manager Kosuke Utsumi

Proof of Achievements Valid in Society

NINJAYA Manager: Kosuke Utsumi

The “training to convey accurately in 1 minute,” “pursuit of customer satisfaction,” and “logical thinking” practiced daily at NINJAYA become powerful achievements that are directly evaluated in the business world. The living proof is the young manager, Utsumi.

  • Ranked 1st out of 500 in AbemaTV’s “Career Draft” (Job Hunting Program)
  • Received job offers from 65 companies as the No.1 presenter

The Spontaneously Inherited Culture of the “Tenugui”

In this team with high standards, an incident occurred where the students took action themselves after the meeting.

In the past, Manager Kunitomo presented a “Tenugui” (Japanese towel) to the 1st generation as proof of being a professional. Wanting to keep that culture alive, the 1st generation students voluntarily selected, purchased, and presented new Tenugui to the 2nd generation.

It was not instructed by the company; it was a fact that the students interpreted the philosophy themselves and put it into action. NINJAYA’s part-time members are growing into individuals who create the organizational culture from the same perspective as the management.

Hone Your Skills Together in This Team.

At NINJAYA, we are looking for new members (Shafu) who want to go beyond the boundaries of a simple part-time job and acquire skills valid in society and the “spirit of hospitality.”
